How Do You Know If You Are Being Propagandized?...

..Into Believing Something You Seriously Doubted?

(Most Americans Don't Recognize Propaganda Technique
Even When They Are Soaking It Up.)

Sign Interpretations Below*

Don't kid yourself; propaganda works. You are not immune, no matter how smart you think you are. Propaganda changes minds, creates and strengthens beliefs. Nobody's immune, but you can keep a good guard up. First you must recognize when you are being targeted.

How to KNOW when it's propaganda

Basics of Propaganda

A Big Lie Work Best.
(And somebody REALLY wants you to believe it.)

Repetition Makes Lies Believable.
(Almost hypnotic with enough repetition.)

So How Do You Spot It Every Time?
It's as Simple as "Rate and Count"

RATE the misinformation for "bigness." Is it:
        1. A white lie
        2. Mixed lie/truth
        3. Major exaggeration
        4. "Big lie" Whopper

Roughly COUNT the number of times you've heard it more or less exactly the same.
        1. I've heard that before.
        2. I'm hearing that quite a bit.
        3. I hear that everywhere.
        4. I've been hearing that -- a lot! -- for a long time.

VERDICT: If it RATES 3 or 4, and COUNTS 3 or 4...

YOU ARE BEING PROPAGANDIZED!

What to do about it.
        1. Snap your fingers in front of your face.
        2. Slap yourself on both cheeks.
        3. Figure out who wants you to believe it and why.
        4. Research for the TRUTH, and repeat it to yourself over and over.

...And 5. Learn all you can about propaganda so you don't get fooled again.

Three AIs and I discuss what a MASTER OF PROPAGANDA, the German Herman Göring said:
(A little pre-research.  You're welcome.)

ON "BIGNESS

GEMINI:  Hermann Göring is often credited with popularizing the concept of "the big lie." He believed that if a lie is repeated often enough and with enough conviction, people will eventually believe it, no matter how absurd.

- - - -

CLAUDE: Göring's view was that people are more likely to believe big lies than small ones, and that constant repetition makes any lie more believable - especially under fear/pressure. He noted that most people instinctively tell small lies but find big lies hard to believe others would tell, making them paradoxically more effective.

ON REPETITION

COPILOT:  The "big lie" about the 2020 election being stolen has been repeated across all media and online channels, including social media influencers, partisan media outlets, and political.  Given the vast reach of social media and the continuous coverage by certain media outlets, it's reasonable to estimate that the claim has been repeated millions of times since the 2020 election.

CLAUDE: given the vast scope across social media, news outlets, rallies, and online channels, what we do know is that various studies have documented the claim being repeated thousands of times just in mainstream media coverage, and likely millions of times across social platforms.

*Oh, the gibberish on those signs?
