Wisdom from the Senior Son
More Outraged Than His Olde Man
Number One Son Guy gets his teeth in a subject and tears it apart. He uses the most credible sources and looks for the logic and illogic in what they report.
He writes more extensively than I do, and I come away from his treatises better informed. Many of the heartfelt opinions in this long running blog were influenced by Guy's research and opinions.
So here is a new one, unfiltered through my inclinations. You will come away better informed about the Qatari mess, the demonization of the Muslim Brotherhood and some historical antecedents.

A Guy Duff Observation
Russian Psychological Warfare Hacking, Qatar, Oil, Neoconservatives and False Flags, Fake News and the Trump Legacy. Terror at it’s worst.
The Propaganda that Qatar sponsors terrorism is ludicrous to anyone concerned with facts. The United States is spending billions of dollars a year at the Qatar military base and is using the most advanced systems to gather and monitor information on terrorism throughout the region. We maintain our most advanced military technology in Qatar. Nothing comes in or goes out from Qatar without the US security and military intelligence knowing about it. It seems the Russians have a hand in all this as well (see below).
If you want to read what our own state department currently says about Qatar and its involvement in the fight against terrorism, go here: https://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/crt/2015/257517.htm
Excerpt: "…The United States and Qatar maintained a strong partnership in the fight against terrorism. Qatar is a partner in the Global Coalition to Counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and has provided significant support in facilitating critical U.S. military operations in the region. Terrorist activity historically has been low in Qatar; restrictive immigration policies and security services capable of monitoring and disrupting extremist activities have kept the threat level low. U.S. agencies have an active and productive dialogue with their Qatari counterparts and work closely for the exchange and evaluation of terrorist-related information…."
On the other hand, we have far less information about what is happening in Saudi Arabia (see towards the bottom of this post), which was instrumental in the formation of Al Qaeda and it’s offshoot in ISIS/ISL.
"Report: Saudi Arabia Hid Knowledge Of Saudi Students In U.S. Who Joined ISIS"
There is some serious psychological warfare taking place and it looks like the Russian's are at it again. (See below). Any surprise that Trump is backing the beneficiaries of this Putinesque "divide and conquer tactic?
"… The fake news reports where published and reported widely by some news organizations in the region, even after Qatar’s government refuted the reports. …"
“...First, there was a report that was published by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on May 23 this year that attributed false remarks to the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, “that appeared friendly to Iran and Israel and questioned whether President Donald Trump would last in office”. Qatar issued a statement soon after those remarks were published, refuting the reports as fake news. In a statement, Qatar claimed that the report was as a result of hacking of the QNA website. Those claims were confirmed on June 7 in an exclusive report released by CNN that stated that “intelligence gathered by the US security agencies indicates that Russian hackers were behind the intrusion first reported by the Qatari government two weeks ago”.
“...Second, days after the intercept, an online publication based in the US released the first batch of leaked emails of the UAE’s ambassador to the US, Yousef Al Otaiba. The intercept leaks “show a close relationship between Al Otaiba and a pro-Israel, neoconservative think-tank – the Foundation for Defence of Democracies”. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
David Hearst, the editor in chief of the Middle East Eye, told Al Jazeera the emails laid bare the “mechanism behind a high-stakes campaign that is being launched against Qatar”.
This is also the common "enemy" of all those who have signed on against Qatar and that is The Muslim Brotherhood. It seems that the Trump, Israeli, Egypt and the Saudi desire to Frame them as Terrorist despite all facts to the contrary.
I recall that at first the West was supporting the Arab Spring in Egypt, over throwing the ruthless dictatorship. When the Muslim Brotherhood won the election in a fair election, the US basically seemed happy when another ruthless Dictator pulled a coup in Egypt and now Trump likes this and so do Israel it seems. Israel is not monolithic and I am certain many Israelis saw through to the truth. Somehow the last few decades, the fascist branch of neoconservatism has a stranglehold on the government in Israel. So many fine Jews are not neocons and many of those fine citizens live both in Israel and even more in the United States. Fascism is not dependent on race, color, religion or creed; but is a consciousness decision against humanity and one utterly lacking in moral conscience but so often hidden in the garb of fake morality.
From the highly respected Brooking’s institute we learn that the Trump administration seeks to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as an FTO even as evidence shows this is a pure fiction to serve some unknown agenda of Trump and or his allies.
From the Brookings Institute Report:
“…There is not a single American expert on the Muslim Brotherhood who supports designating them as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.”
“…Members of the Trump administration have pushed to designate the Muslim Brotherhood, the world’s oldest and largest Islamist movement, a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).” Source: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/unpacked/2017/04/11/is-the-muslim-brotherhood-a-terrorist-organization/
Some excellent analysis from the Washington Post:
"The question is not so much why Saudi Arabia and the UAE did what they did, but rather why Trump led them to believe he would back them. It’s one thing to bolster ties with our closest gulf allies, but quite another entirely to blatantly take one side in an intra-gulf dispute where we have partners on both sides. On many issues, U.S. interests and those of Saudi Arabia and the UAE align. But not when it comes to exacerbating sectarian tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims; courting a confrontation with Iran; turning a blind eye to authoritarian practices; and labeling virtually all Islamists, peaceful or violent, as terrorists. All of these practices tend to empower extremists, who feed off sectarianism, conflict and suppression of non-violent means of expression."
Why Kennedy was killed (he actually believed in these words and stood by them):
"...The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know."
